College Essay Workshop

Malibu High School is pleased to partner with Collegewise to offer an excellent College Essay Workshop to help Seniors write and edit their college admission essays.  In addition to attending a 2-hour essay seminar, students will have the opportunity to submit their essays to Collegewise for expert feedback.  The workshop tuition is $199 per student. 

This Collegwise essay workshop is truly an outstanding opportunity for Seniors to either start their college essay for the first time or continue revising the essay they wrote for Mrs. Thoreson or on their own over the summer.  We highly recommend that students take advantage of this workshop.  If you need financial assistance to attend this workshop, please contact Mrs. Chi at achi@smmusd.org.

The College Essay Workshop includes the following for $199:

*2-hour college essay seminar
The 2-hour seminar teaches students everything they need to know to write engaging, memorable college essays.

*Expert feedback on student's first draft
After the seminar, students submit their completed college essays to a Collegwise essay specialist.  They will send back detailed written feedback and suggestions for improving the essays.

*Final proofreading
After incorporating the expert feedback and revising the essays, students submit their essays to Collegewise one last time for final proofreading.  Students who meet the editing deadlines (provided at the seminar) will complete their college essays within one month of finishing the seminar!
