PTSA Self-defense Class
19-Dec-2012
Self-Defense Class sponsored by the MHS PTSA
Friday, January 25, 2013
1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Old Gym
The Malibu High School PTSA is sponsoring “Don’t Be A Victim! Safety and Self-defense Training” classes which will take place on campus on three Friday afternoons this spring. The program is FREE for all high school girls, moms, and female teachers, and is open to the community.
As our young women venture into the world around them, we want them to be able to handle difficult situations of all kinds. The PTSA wants to provide appropriate and effective self-defense training to all teen girls in our community. Joey and Ginger Escobar are donating their time and expertise to teach the classes at Malibu High. They have already taught two pilot classes at their studio which you can check out on YouTube at the following link:

The classes will take place in the Old Gym at the following times:
Class #1:
Friday, January 25
1-2:30pm
Class #2: Friday, February 15 1-2:30pm
Class #3:
Friday, April 19
1-2:30pm
The classes will all cover the same material – they are not a series. Please choose your class and RSVP as soon as possible. Required waivers for 11th and 12th grade girls attending without an adult will be available in the front office. Students in grades 9 and 10 need to attend with a mom or guardian. Plan to wear comfortable athletic clothing and expect to learn a lot AND get a great workout!
