We will read To Kill a Mockingbird in class and as homework for the next 6 weeks.  Whatever reading isn't finished in class is expected to be read as homework.  Pop quizzes on the previous nights' homework can happen anytime, so stay up-to-date with your reading!
Monday 1. April 26 (Thursday) is Poem in Your Pocket Day. Bring a printed-out poem that you like to Mr. D in the library on Thursday for a special treat if you'd like.

Monday The final draft (after Mrs. Lapajne’s comments) of your CSL Thank You Letter is due Wednesday, June 15th.  Revise it, print it out, and sign it.  Place your revised CSL Advocacy Letter behind the Thank You Letter.  Fold both papers in thirds and insert them into your envelope.  Address the envelope properly (look at the explanation on the back of this paper for help).  Put the stamp on the letter, seal the envelope, and give it to Mrs. Lapajne.

 

                        * NOTE: The library is closed because of textbook returns.  If you do not have a printer at home, E-mail your letter(s) to a friend and ask him/her to print out your letter(s) for you.  You have TWO days to turn in this work, so I will not accept excuses for why you couldn’t get your work printed out by Wednesday.

3.  Find a poem that you like and bring a print-out or xerox of it to class Wednesday. Underline your favorite 2 to 4 lines and be ready to explain why you like the poem and those lines in particular. Be sure to cite the author and title, too.
